ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Fairy wrens always bring me joy. I encounter them on my morning walks twittering along bush tracks. With the brilliant blue plumage of the male depicted here a semaphore flash among green. These small birds live in family groups, flitting through dense foliage and hopping along open ground, pausing for brief moments before darting back to cover.
